IT Industry in Austria
The software & IT industry is one of Austria’s most important driving forces for its economy. No other sector achieves such high added value over a wide range of economic sectors. The industry is developing quickly, and active research and development and international networking are the keys to success.
Austria is home to several big IT companies, SMEs, start-ups and branch offices. In 2020, about 243.700 people were employed in the information and consulting sector.
Companies of all sizes and all over Austria need IT specialists with different backgrounds and interests. Not all companies are looking for fluent German speakers, as the working language is English in most cases.
